Inheritance of Custom Sidebar

Is there a way to get a Custom Sidebar to inherit on ALL child pages? I need to display different contact information in the footer of the Residency Program of our Pediatrics department web site – https://www.med.unc.edu/pediatrics/education/pedsres/. I used Custom Sidebar to create the new footer and assigned it to the home page of the Residency Program (/pedsres). The footer got inherited on child pages but not grandchild pages. For example, the Educational Opportunities page – https://www.med.unc.edu/pediatrics/education/pedsres/curriculum/, is a child and displays the correct footer. However, if you look at any of it’s children pages (Advocacy, Simulation, Conferences, etc.), the footer information is different. The Custom Sidebar that I created did not inherit down to this level as I had wanted.
