Support » Plugin: Jetpack by » Infinite Scroll Goes from Grid to Single Column on Page 2

  • Resolved OU812

    I see that others have had this problem, too, but I did not see a solution. I have my theme set to grid (masonry) view for my blog pages, custom post types, archives, etc. However, when I am using Jetpack’s Infinite Scroll and it loads page 2 of the posts, the good is lost and it only shows the posts in a single column with tons of white space where the grid should be. I have a pretty universal theme, but cannot seem to fix the issue.

    Also, can you let me know what version of theme you’re running?

    Looks like I am running 4.8. I don’t have it turned on at the moment as the site is live now so you won’t see it anyway. But in the forums, it looks like others have had similar problems. It appears to be an issue with Jetpack’s Infinite Scroll. I just don’t know how to get it corrected. I was reading about Jetpack’s Infinite Scroll not using the theme’s layout after it scrolls into page 2. I read the documentation on how to get it corrected, but was not really clear enough so could not implement.

    Thanks for clarifying that. Jetpack’s infinite scroll works with a lot themes out of the box, however there may be conflicts depending on how some themes are set-up, in which case more work is needed.

    Implementing our infinite scroll feature to a theme is up to the theme authors to do. Is this the article you’re referring to?

    Yep that is the article. Just a bit over my head and even when I did try it, I couldn’t get it to work.

    Hi, so also Related Posts was working on the site and now it is not showing up. Don’t think I changed anything, but messing with the settings does not work either.

    Hi @owen919,

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you! Could you please avoid the guide linked above altogether and try adding the below to your theme’s function.php file?

    ( function( $ ) {
        $( document.body ).on( 'post-load', function () {
            // New posts have been added to the page.
        } );
    } )( jQuery );

    As for your related posts, could you please provide us with your site URL so that I can run some connection tests on it?
