• I’ve tried to install WordPress 3.3.1 on a Windows computer, using all defaults. I’ve configured my MySQL server, installed WordPress to the default location under my website. I can access the admin functions. But when I actually try to visit http://www.afewgoodseeds.org/wordpress/ (index.php), I get a few different errors, depending on my browser:

    • IE just sits there, evidently in a redirect loop.
    • Firefox sits for a few minutes, and then tells me that “the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”
    • Opera tells me that “The URL was redirected to http://www.afewgoodseeds.org/wordpress/.” i.e. itself.

Any clues? Again, everything is the default installation, I haven’t moved the wordpress install anywhere.

  • Did you previously have a .htaccess file in the root directory? If so, try renaming it so it will disable it.
