Infinite redirect problem WP4.5 2014 Theme 1.7

    Hi,
    I had an infinite redirect problem after updating WP to 4.5 and narrowed it down to the following configuration:

    1) I use a static page (let’s name it Page1) as landing page and a page called “news” for my articles.
    2) In Settings->Read I configured the start page to “show a static page” and selected “Start page: Page1” and “Article page: news”.

    This worked perfectly until I updated to 4.5.
    Then I got the infinite redirect problem.
    I deactivated all plugins and still got the infinite redirect problem.

    When I change the setting in 2) to “Start page: -choose-” and “Article page: news” the system works again but then of course shows the News Page as landing page. And not my static page.

    Hi,

    There are two possible reasons for this, let’s try the simple one first 🙂

    If you go to Settings > General, make sure both the URL fields are all lowercase (yup, it matters to the code, but not in real life), does this solve the redirect issue?

    I am having what seems to be the same problem.

    Just like Alex, I have a static page at root and posts on a separate page and this only started after 4.5 upgrade.

    Disabling plugins, changing to default theme makes no difference. Disabling static page for root does fix it. Changing to any other static page still results in the redirect hang.

    Unfortunately, Marius’ suggestion above does not apply. My site and wordpress URLs are entirely lowercase.
