[Resolved] Infinite Loop – HELP!

  • natalieosborne@wonderbuild.com

Yikes. I accidentally created an infinite loop with a global asterisk field for the entire domain to forward to the index.php. Which meant I couldn’t access the WP Admin tool – it kept forwarding to the root index.php. I deleted the 301 simple redirect plugin folder via FTP, which solved the problem. But when I went to re-install the 301 simple redirect plugin, the infinite loop returned.

How can I wipe out the simple 301 redirects and start over completely?

    Hi Natalie,

Sorry, i’m not the developer for this plugin (sorry for fielding this Scott) but I was just reading through the support tickets and stumbled over your post.

You can simply add update_option('301_redirects', ''); to your functions.php file, save it, load a page in your admin, then remove the line and save again. Activate the plugin and you’ll have a blank 301 list.

Hope that helps (and apologies again for answering your forum posts Scott).

Yes! That worked! Thank you Thank you thank you!

Glad to hear it helped Natalie. If you have a lot to put back in, I have written a support plugin for this plugin to enable bulk upload via CSV: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects-addon-bulk-uploader/

Thanks for fielding this for me, Ash! Any and all community help is welcome. 🙂
