Simple 301 Redirects
[resolved] Infinite Loop - HELP! (5 posts)

Yikes. I accidentally created an infinite loop with a global asterisk field for the entire domain to forward to the index.php. Which meant I couldn't access the WP Admin tool - it kept forwarding to the root index.php. I deleted the 301 simple redirect plugin folder via FTP, which solved the problem. But when I went to re-install the 301 simple redirect plugin, the infinite loop returned.

How can I wipe out the simple 301 redirects and start over completely?

    Hi Natalie,

Sorry, i'm not the developer for this plugin (sorry for fielding this Scott) but I was just reading through the support tickets and stumbled over your post.

You can simply add update_option('301_redirects', ''); to your functions.php file, save it, load a page in your admin, then remove the line and save again. Activate the plugin and you'll have a blank 301 list.

Hope that helps (and apologies again for answering your forum posts Scott).

Glad to hear it helped Natalie. If you have a lot to put back in, I have written a support plugin for this plugin to enable bulk upload via CSV: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects-addon-bulk-uploader/
