• My site was hacked with some kind of redirect trojan. I deactivated this plugin and the problem went away. I know some plugins have security vulnerabilities. I just don’t know how this could happen using the latest version of WordPress and the SEO plugin. Thanks for a great few years. I guess I will reload the next version when it comes out.

I’m an idiot. This probably had very little to do with the SEO plugin. I had a wordpress backdoor which would periodically redirect a user to some crap site. The hacker was able to overwrite a lot of php files and who knows what else. I only thought the plugin was responsible because when I disabled it the problem went away for awhile. This was only because the remote site didn’t always respond. I uploaded a backup under a subdomain until I got everything updated. Fortunately, I had a good backup.
I still don’t know what caused the vulnerability.
