    Hello,

I had to remove your plugin because Avast antivirus was detecting phishing malware in it.

Upon deactivating it, everything became alright.

I was so happy with this plugin, but now I have lost trust completely.

This happened on two of my websites. When I removed the plugin from both the websites then the problem was immediately gone.

    Hello swagatam1975,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns.

We want to assure you that our plugin, reSmush.it, is not infected with any malware or phishing threats. The last update to our plugin was made over two months ago, and it is actively used by over 100,000 websites without any reports of similar issues.

This is the first time we’ve heard of such a detection, and upon thoroughly analyzing the plugin, we found no evidence of any malicious code. It is highly likely that your antivirus software, Avast, has flagged the plugin as a false positive. Such incidents, while uncommon, can happen due to how antivirus tools interpret certain files or functionalities.

We recommend reaching out to Avast’s support team to report this issue, as they can investigate and confirm whether this is indeed a false positive.

We value your trust and are here to answer any further questions or concerns you might have.

    Best regards,

    Thanks @sixaxis, for the clarification,

I have installed your plugin back in my other site, and currently Avast is not detecting anything and everything’s looking normal.

I will check it for a few days more and then install it on my other websites also.

By the way resmush.it is the only plugin which truly worked for me to optimize the size and weight of the images genuinely!

Thank you very much for your time!

    Appreciate it very much!
