    Dear support team
This mini extension is very useful for our website. We have lots of color variation for “plants + pots” bundles. The individual plant price changes dynamically over time and we use the “individual item pricing” method for automatic bundle price adoption.
The problem is if we don’t fill the price field of the product variation (in order to don’t use static price), the variation doesn’t show and we face with this example massage :
“3 variations do not have prices. Variations (and their attributes) that do not have prices will not be shown in your store.”
Is there any why or modification in this extension can help with this problem?

    Best
    Mani Zand

    Hey @manizand,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I am glad that you found this mini-extension useful!

You are right that you need to set up a price both for the Product Bundle and the individual variation.

When we started developing Variation Bundles, we thought to automatically fill in the variation price based on the price of the associated Bundle. However, this turned out to be a very technically demanding task so we dropped it for v1. Currently, around 100 users use this free mini-extension — if it becomes more popular we will definitely consider adding more features!

In the meantime, it is necessary to make sure that you update the variation price every time you update the Bundle price.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

    Cheers,

    Hi @jasonkytros

We would definitely use this mini-extension if the variation price would update automatically.

Our bundles are quite complex. Manual price updates is not an option unfortunately.

    Thanks 🙂

    Hey @poolfactory,

    Thanks for letting us know!

A workaround for this case is to use Composite Products to group together Product Bundles.

Composite Products allows you to create configurable kits with multiple slots/components. In this case, you could create a Composite Product with a single component and add all Product Bundles there. These Product Bundles will show up in a dropdown format similarly to variation dropdowns. The advantage of this approach is that the Bundle price will be automatically transferred to the Composite.

Let me know if this helps!

I’d like to make sure I understand how variation pricing works with this plugin, as described in this previous conversation (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/individual-item-pricing-not-working-here/#post-13758896)

I think what you’re saying is that I must manually set the price of the variation (that’s assigned the bundle) AND that the price of that variation must be the same as the price of the bundle. In other words, the price of the bundle (when offered as a variation) cannot be different from the price of bundle itself.

If I ever change the price of the underlying bundle, I must go to the product where it’s offered as a variation and manually update that price (to match the new bundle price).

    Do I have that correct?

Great plugin, btw. Solves a squirrely edge-case a client just threw my way.

    Thanks!

    Hi there @sdowney2002,

Thanks for your question — and for appreciating our plugin!

You are correct. The price of each Variation that is linked to a Product Bundle should be equal to the price of that Bundle. It is necessary to manually update the variation price each time the price of the Bundle changes, because as Jason mentioned in his reply here this isn’t yet done automatically.

If you’d like more details about this, on the Variable Product page customers will see the Variation prices, but after selecting one of the Variations and clicking the Add to cart button the corresponding Bundle will be added to the cart. So, the price of the Bundle will show up there. This is why it is necessary to ensure that the two prices are equal.
