  • Hey ejh4isu,

Thanks for getting in touch with us. It certainly looks like some CSS in the site is conflicting with the original formatting for the form. To clarify, can you indicate whether the form is coming from the MailChimp List Subscribe Form plugin installed into WordPress or via MailChimp embedded code offered through the MailChimp application? If the issue is arising while using embedded form code, our ability to help will be limited, but if the issue is coming up when using our WordPress plugin, with a link to your site we may be able to take a look at the site’s CSS and try determining what code can be altered to assist.

We’ll be glad to take a look with more detail!

Thats for the reply – I’m using embedded code generated from your web site.

    Hi Ejh4isu,

As Gabe explained, this forum is really geared towards supporting issues with the MailChimp WordPress Plugin located here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp/ So we’re limited in the support we can provide for the embed code.

Based on the screenshot it appears there could be something in your site’s css that is causing the indicates required issue. The MailChimp knowledge base has a great guide that can help styling the embed code: http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/embed-code-css-reference/

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi, I am having the same problem, with the asterisk not displaying for required fields. I am using the short code on the page. http://pellcenter.salvereginablogs.com/email-sign-up/

All 4 fields shown are acting required which is the desired outcome.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Nahmialm,

Thanks for hopping in the forum. Checking out your site, it appears the required asterisk isn’t being added in the form code inserted into your page.

There are a few things to try to update the fields. First in the MailChimp plugin settings, click the Update List button. That settings page is located in the WordPress admin area, under Settings > MailChimp Setup.

If that doesn’t work, completely uninstall and reinstall the plugin. This can also help update the settings.

That should get you going in the right direction, if you continue to have problems let us know.
