# index.php not loading after update

* Hi,
* I recently updated to WooCommerce 5.7.1 and I’m using WordPress version 5.8.1.
* I have hit an issue where going to wp-admin/index.php goes up to 100% CPU utilisation
and kills my site.
* I have disabled all plugins and found that when I only have WooCommerce enable
I can re-product the error. I activated a heap of other plugins and had no issue
so have been able to isolate the problem.
* I have installed WordPress Query monitor and can’t see any errors and I also
can’t see anything on in debug.log
* Is there a known issue?

* The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin
is to temporarily switch your theme to **Storefront** ([https://woocommerce.com/storefront/](https://woocommerce.com/storefront/))
and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. Finally, test to see if the issue
is resolved.
* To figure out if the theme or a plugin is causing the problem, continue to the
next step – reactivate your theme first and all other plugins one by one, testing
after each, until you find the one causing the issue.

* If it does not work, kindly provide us the following for further troubleshooting:

- **Error Log**: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce
> System Status > Logs (if available).
- **[Console tab](https://support.monday.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002197259-How-to-Open-the-Developer-Console)**:
Right-click on the page or press F12 on the keyboard and select “Inspect” (
this option will show up on most browsers). In the developer tools that will
pop up you should see a “Console” tab. From there, please send us a screenshot
of what’s being displayed using a tool like snipboard.io.

* Hi Mirko,
* Below are the details you suggested. I was definitely able to isiolate the issue
to WooCommerce because I did as you suggested prior to doing this post. I was
able to have nothing installed except for WooCommerce and the moment I activated
it, I couldn’t get to wp-admin/index.php and the CPU of my host hit 100%.
* I have since done an upgrade to 5.8.0 and I can see the wp-admin/index.php page
now, however the site still seems slow.

is running out of memory. Have you tried installing the standalone WooCommerce
Admin plugin? While it is included in the core, it has been developed separately.
Sometimes when we have an issue with it, installing the standalone plugin can
be a way to get things working again.

This thread seems to be the only
source I can find on the topic, and we have just had this occur for a development
site.
* If we load [site]/wp-admin/index.php the page crashes (in this instance it bounces
to the hosting firm’s ‘_This domain has just been registered_‘ catch-all page).
If I then load the dev frontend URL the admin bar is present (login was successful
then, loading /index.php was not), hovering site name and clicking ‘Dashboard’
results in the same fail as above, clicking say, ‘Themes’, ‘Widgets’ or ‘Menus’
allows backend access to everything barring ‘Dashboard’.

- **Reinstall WordPress [5.9.3]**: nope
- **Delete & reinstate htaccess**: nope
- **Switch off plugins**: yes [one by one turning back on highlights WooComm
as the issue]

* In the new thread, make sure to include any PHP error logs that you have. You
can find at least some of them by going to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and using
the drop-down in the top-right corner. Any error messages could help pinpoint
the source of the trouble.
