Support » Fixing WordPress » Index Page Overriding Page Templates

  • I’m pulling my hair out on this one. Everything was working fine last night until I accidently uploaded the wrong index page to my main folder. Now my page templates don’t work. They’re overridden by the index.php file in my main folder.

Using conditional comments, my Calendar page says it’s using a page template, even though if it was working it would be a 2-column layout instead of 3.

Note: the wordpress install is in the same folder.

So my blog and test site are both located at:

And the page in question is here:

My Calendar page template is giving an error:

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php’) in /homepages/32/d201789973/htdocs/SportscastsLLC/jay/wp-content/themes/custom/page_calendar.php on line 46

Any help is appreciated. Thanks —

that path isnt right, and suggests to me that you uploaded the wrong index.php

the index.php that loads wp-blog-header.php is ONLY supposed to live inside the root of your blog — not inside any theme directories.

Upload the proper index.php files to the proper locations, and Ill bet that error goes away.

if not, youre going to need to explain this issue better, for me, at least.
