Support » Fixing WordPress » Index Page Error

  • Hello.
I am helping a friend with his website and there is a strange error ocurring. The main index page is all shifted around and the template is not displaying correctly. There are several posts that appear at the bottom of every page, no matter how many pages back in the history you go. From the trouble shooting I have done, I have determined the following:

    1. The error is not with the template as I tried other templates and they produce the same error.
    2. The error is not with any individual posts because I unpublished all the posts appearing and more took their place.
    3. The problem is not the result of upgrading from wordpress 2.0.x to 2.3.3 because this error occured as I was backing up the files, not as I was upgrading.

Any suggestions? I have been working with wordpress for several years and I have never seen anything quite like this. From all appearances, it looks like a template error, but as I said already, I know it’s not. Any help is much appreciated. To see the error for yourself, visit

    Gimme a break!

If you work with WP for years, you should know better…

Please give me more credit than that. I would not have taken the time to post here if the problem were that simple. As I said, I unpublished any apparent problem posts, including that one, and more took their place at the bottom of the page. I also examined the code on those posts and there were no errors or anomalies. I am confident that the problem does not lie in a specific post.

There was your problem right there, being involved with something christian-related.

It all looks okay to me (Mac Firefox), but you do have code errors that need to be fixed. Code errors can cause display problems and they can be in the theme and/or in the post content. Oversized content (too wide images, videos, etc.) can also cause display issues.

You do have errors in your theme though. In your current theme, move your Google Analytics code from just before the opening <body class="k2"> tag to just before the closing </body> tag.

I’d also recommend upgrading to the latest WordPress version because your version is vulnerable to hacking.
