When trying to read my own blog while overseas, I received an error message. I thought it was just that computer, but now I realize that somehow this page got corrupted. When I enter my blog address, the following message appears:

Craziest was here! just patch ur system

Meanwhile, the control panel is working fine – I can write posts, edit comments, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

    What version are you using?
Is install.php or upgrade.php still on your server?

    I am using version 1.2.

install.php is still on my server. upgrade.php is still on my server.

This problem happens when I go to my blog (main page) and when I click “view site”

For security you should not have either of those files on the server.
Also, you should upgrade to 1.5.2 then to 2.0.2.
Many security issues have been fixed since then.

Thanks! I’ll try upgrading and see what happens. I appreciate the prompt response.

Note: If you are upgrading from 1.2, you have to go:
    1.2x > 1.5x > 2.x
There are some good guides for it if you have a few minutes to search. Older versions are available here:

    [Edit: backup, backup, backup :).]

The problem was that my index page had been replaced. I have upgraded to 1.5.2 and will over the next day or so upgrade to 2.0.2 (or whatever is most recent). I’ll also be sure to remove the index.php and upgrade.php files from my server.

Thanks for all the help and support!

You should change ALL your passwords, for WP, for MySQL, and probably for your web CP just for sanity. The first two are required if someone had access to your site…
