    Hello and…HELP!
I’ve installed WordPress on a remote host and after initial setup, when I go to the home page, instead of seeing the index page (the start page) I still keep seeing the stupid account confirmation from the host site, account confirmation which resides in the index.html page… how can I replace that with the index page of the blog?
    Thank you!

Just delete the index.html file. WP has an index.php file but because usually index.html takes precedence over index.php on most hosts… you can’t see your blog.

I deleted the index.html but I still get that message…is like it was never deleted…
The only way I can see the blog is if I type in the adress bar:
    http://ahriman.5gbfree.com/index.php

If I write only http://ahriman.5gbfree.com I get the stupid account message…

Now ask your host to configure your web server to recognize index.php as a default page.
