I am fairly new at WordPress (rusty at best), we set up our hosting and domain through GoDadday. I followed the set up and install instructions for the site and WordPress. Installed my theme in WordPress and cannot see the home page. I have added content and every time I try to view site I get the same "site coming soon" page as when we first purchased the domain, etc. When I look in the ftp file manager there isn't an index file. I called GoDaddy and they said its a WordPress issue. Can anyone assist?!

Check if you have a place holder in your root - check if you have a index.html file or any other file that are not wordpress related

there isn't an index.html in the root.
    only:
    Apache Logs
    Error Logs
    .errrdocs
    wordpress
    .htaccess
    favicon.ico
    gdform.php
    php.ini
    webformmailer.php
    welcome.html

these are all the files in the root. ???

To me it looks like the problem is that your domain is pointing to the root, but your wordpress site is in the /wordpress directory.

Try going to http://yoursitedomain/wordpress and see if your site comes up.

Godaddy installs wordpress in the folder named "wordpress"(it is the default folder name you can change it during installation) .. if you can view your site at http://yoursitedomain/wordpress then just go to

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

and follow the instructions for "Using a pre-existing subdirectory install"
