Support » Theme: OceanWP » index / archive webpages errors after validating

  • Hi!

I submitted a few index / archive webpages and post / page URLs to the W3C Markup Validator (https://validator.w3.org/) to verify the HTML of the OceanWp theme templates.

I got a lot of errors, and one of them was this fatal error:

Fatal Error: Cannot recover after last error. Any further errors will be ignored.

From line 225, column 17; to line 226, column 318

    pt></head><body data-rsssl=1↩class=”home page-template-default page page-id-10 wp-custom-logo wp-embed-responsive theme-oceanwp w…disabled has-breadcrumbs has-grid-list account-original-style elementor-default elementor-kit-1749″><div↩i

My plugin WPSSO Core Premium said that I shoul report the errors to you. Is this something I need to worry about? Will the crawlers be able to do their job with all these errors that I get?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

While Validators are good to use, they are mostly a perfect fit for HTML-built websites only. The classes in questions are not only added by theme developers but also injected by various plugins used, like Elementor, WooCommerce, etc etc etc.

They are used for the website to know (one of the examples), which stylesheet or codes to use based on the body tags of that specific page in order to return the correct layout or functionality.

This goes for all WordPress themes/plugins, not just OceanWP (it can also be checked by temporarily switching to any other theme). And there won’t be any issues validating the pages at all.
