Increase Top Posts beyond 4

Hello,
The basic setup of Expound has a Featured Post, then 4 posts that allow for Featured Images and condensed text in a row, then, further posts are laid out below, completely expanded.

I would like to increase these 4 posts w/ image (in a row), to 12 (3 rows of 4 per row), or indefinitely, if possible.

I searched the Editor for the template to see if I could find such an option, but I could not. Also, I am using a child of Expound theme for edits—to protect the original files.
