# Incorrect "From" In WordPress Emails

 * Having a problem where a client is hosting WEBSITE1.COM, and when i request a
WordPress generated email (from either a plugin or from WordPress itself, like
in the example of a password reminder link request), i’m getting a different “
from” in the resulting email. Example:
 * From: Apache <wordpress-support@WEBSITE2.com>
 * WEBSITE2 in this example is also hosted by the client, most likely on the same
server. No emails have been assigned for the WEBSITE2 domain.
 * My theory is that WordPress (or the server) is defaulting to the other real email
   address.
 * Regardless if this is true or not, i’m wondering if anyone can confirm and recommend
the best course of action. The client really doesn’t want to create email accounts
for their multiple domains (they don’t use them), unless this is the only solution.
 * I’m more on a fact-finding mission here, but obviously the “from apache” and
incorrect email is a black eye of sorts. Thoughts?

 * What urls are entered in Settings -> General?

 * It’s going to a real email address on WEBSITE2.com. Not the “wordpress-support”
email, however. It wouldn’t be a surprise to get an email from [wordpress-support@WEBSITE2.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/incorrect-from-in-wordpress-emails/wordpress-support@WEBSITE2.com?output_format=md)
if that was actually in the Settings -> General. The urls all point to WEBSITE1.
   com (as you would expect).

 * WordPress will use the domain name entered in Settings -> General for all emails,
so I can only suggest that someone has set up mail forwarding on this address
   via the hosts.

 * Thanks esmi. I’m checking now to see if they can’t set this up. What you’re saying
makes sense and logical, but i’m wondering why they aren’t getting the actual
email in the settings panel instead of another email on the same domain. I’m
checking further into the way the emails have been setup, and if i can find something
that makes sense i can mark this resolved.
