Incorrect Blacklist Approach

Hello dear developer! I want to give some advice about your plugin (Blacklist & Whitelist Domains for Registration). The idea is not bad, but a little wrong approach to this matter, as with all similar plugins hosted in the WordPress repository.

The fact is that the meaning of the existence of the Blacklist is not entirely clear. In fact, spammers can use 1000+ different domain names and zones, and constantly manually blacklisting them is a little depressing.

It would be better to make the White List work so that it allows you to register on the site only with those domain names that are in it. And if you try to register from a domain that is not on the White List, this domain would immediately be sent to the Blacklist.

Thus, we get rid of the routine work of constantly replenishing the Blacklist in manual mode. And we give access only to reliable domain names. Such as GMAIl.COM, MAIL.RU, YANDEX.RU, etc. That is, those whom we can trust with 100%.

And finally, I would like to be able to use your plugin with the Hivepress plugin – https://hivepress.io . Since your plugin doesn’t work in pop-ups!

Здравствуй уважаемый разработчик! Хочу дать некоторую рекомендацию по поводу вашего плагина (Blacklist & Whitelist Domains for Registration). Задумка не плохая, но немного неправильный подход к этому делу, как и у всех подобных плагинов размещенных в репозитории WordPress.

Дело в том что, не совсем понятен смысл существования Черного списка. По сути, спамеры могут использовать 1000+ различных доменных имен и зон, и постоянное ручное внесение их в черный список, немного удручает.

Не поще было бы заставить работать Белый список так, чтобы он разрешал регистрироваться на сайте только с теми доменными именами которые находятся в нем. А при попытке зарегистрироватся с домена которого нет в Белом списке, данный домен сразу бы отправлялся в Черный список.

Тем самым, мы избавляемся от рутинной работы постоянно пополнять Черный список в ручном режиме. И даем доступ только достоверным доменным именам. Таким как GMAIl.COM, MAIL.RU, YANDEX.RU и т.п. Тоесть тем кому мы со 100% можем доверять.

И на последок, хотелось бы иметь возможность использования вашего плагина с плагином Hivepress – https://hivepress.io. Так как ваш плагин не работает во всплывающих окнах!

This plugin offers both functionalities for you. In the plugin setting, you can enter blacklist domains and whitelist domains, If you enter the domains in the blacklist area then all those emails or domains will be blocked for registration, same like if you enter the domains in the whitelist area then the user can register on your site only with those domains.

It is clear that the white and black list. But as I said, there are 1000 spammers on the network. And they register tens of thousands of domain names for their insidious purposes. It is after each such suspicious registration that I need to blacklist the domain and remove this user from the system manually.

And why not make the blacklist autofillable, that is, if this domain is not on the white list, then it automatically gets blacklisted.

The white domains that I want to allow for registration on the site, in my opinion, are easier to specify than to constantly calculate and replenish black lists manually.

Это понятно что белый и черный список. Но как я уже говорил в сети 1000 спамеров. И они регистрируют десятки тысяч доменных имен для своих коварных целей. Это после каждой такой подозрительной регистрации мне необходимо заносить домен в черный список и удалять данного пользоателя из системы вручную.

А почему бы не сделать черный список автонаполняемым, тоесть если данного домена нет в белом списке, то он автоматически попадает в черный список.

Белые домены которые я хочу допускать к регистрации на сайте, помоему проще указать, чем постоянно вычислять и пополнять черные списки вручную.

The functionality you are asking for has already existed in the plugin. when you enter the domains in the whitelist area then only those domains are allowed for the registration on the site, other domains will auto blocked for registration.

You say that everything already exists in the plugin, but it’s not! Here are the domains that are whitelisted:

gmail.com
yandex.ru
yandex.com
yandex.by
yandex.kz
yandex.ua
ya.ru
mail.ru
inbox.ru
list.ru
bk.ru
internet.ru
```
I changed only 1 letter in the domain name and the registration was successful! Used this fake address: 1234rtt@yandrex.com.

As for the form used on the site, registration takes place through Woocommerce.

This user also appeared in the list of users!

I would not offer you to do all this, but as you can see for yourself, registration has passed.
