• Due to the way this plugin only analysis the default WordPress content areas (title, url, main content box, etc.) and ignores my content in custom fields or shortcodes, my sitemap is incomplete (e.g. no images are included, as they are all within my custom fields).

(Side note, this is also likely why your “seo check” is failing – this plugin is not “seeing” all the content on your pages.)

I have read a lot about the “wpseo_pre_analysis_post_content” filter, but I have not seen it well described or documented in terms of how to implement (language to use, variables, where to include it). Can anyone share some experience/details where it works?

Personally, I don’t understand why there isn’t a more user-friendly way to have this plugin look for this custom content. For example, a field within the settings that asks for the names of the modules/custom sections to look for, and then the plugin interprets this and spits out whatever code needs to be added to the functions.php etc. But I’m no developer, so what makes sense rationally often doesn’t work in the world of code.

Point is, with the increase of themes that forgo the default wordpress area and opt for custom sections, I am surprised that this plugin does not have a more user friendly way to address this.
