    Installation: local
    wp: ver 1.5.1.3
    OS: Win2k
    WebServer: Apache (php, mysql)
    Browser: Firefox 1.0.6

Installation runs fine, til it stops at the second step:
“Now we’re going to create the database tables and fill them with some default data.” – no reaction.

Tables (9) and data was created, the frontend is working and I presume even the backend, but it doesn’t tell me the admin pwd! :/

I already deleted the tables, then the whole db and ran the installation again – same results.

    Any ideas?

The page here takes you through getting a new password, but you need phpmyadmin: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

When you say ‘webserver’, do you mean xampp or some other readymade package ?

Didn’t use xampp. Installed apache, perl, php, mysql individually.

Ok, that will help, thanks. But what is the actual problem here. Somehow it should run?!

Do the tables have any data in them?

Yes, the “Hello World” Post with the comment. Also I can see the “admin” in the table users. So it just seems that everything was done right, just not the ouput of the password. If I manually go to step 3, the script tells me that there has an installation already taken place…
