Incomplete Database (4 posts)

    Hi All,

I am currently developing 2 sites using WordPress and MAMP, and I am at the point that I need to move one of them from my localhost to the web server. In order to develop the two sites here's what I did

Set up and installed MAMP and developed the first site using "localhost" we'll call it "Site 1"
then for the second site I added a new folder "localhost/site2" and installed wordpress to that directory as well. The problem that I have run into is that when I try to export the database to my online server, it looks like the database for site 1 is incomplete, I only have five tables:

when I look at the database for site 2, it's much more comprehensive with 11 tables

Site 1 still works locally, but when I try to access it online, it redirects to the install page. I'm sure it's a database issue, I'm just not sure how to fix it.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

None of the tables you listed above are part of a standard WordPress install.

Hi emi - Is it possible that when I installed wordpress for the second time it over-wrote the original database?

No. The second install would have halted with a clear message about an existing populated database.
