    Hi,

it seems there is an incompatibility with WP 4.7. As soon as the option “Also aggregate inline CSS” is checked, the path for the custom background image in WP is incorrect and background images won’t display anymore.

if you’re a beginner simply disable the aggregation of inline CSS @bartoszbuk 🙂

Where can i find “CSS options”?

    (@futtta)

well, wordpress admin -> settings -> autoptimize

you will want to make sure “show advanced settings” is clicked and then uncd CSS option untick the “also aggregate inline CSS”-option.

because you are using Autoptimize, are you? 😉

I installed the autoptimize plugin, disabled “also aggregate inline CSS” and nothing change 🙁

ah, so you’ve installed AO to try to fix the custom-background-image problem? ok, that’s .. novel 😉

if disabling “also aggregate inline CSS” doesn’t work, you’ll have to revert to the snippet provided above (which only works if AO is installed). easiest way to use the snippet is by installing the “code snippets” plugin and adding a new snippet. copy/ paste the snippet, select “only on frontend” and click “save and activate” and your background-image should re-appear.

    don’t working 🙁

can you share your site’s URL so I can have a quick look bartos?

@bartoszbuk; as you were not using autoptimize: how did you discover the problem? in which browser are you testing (as without AO or when not including inline CSS, the problem is not visible to most)?

    Dear Frank!

    (sorry for my terrible english)

    only feedback:
I have had the same Problem since WordPress 4.7.
The Background picture will don`t displayed any more.
After disable the function “aggregation of inline CSS” (german: Auch inline CSS zusammenfügen?) the background picture displays again.

Thanks for your support, and I hope it will be fixed in the next version.

    hallo @frank9652;
this will actually get fixed with wordpress 4.7.1, as the root problem is in wordpress 4.7 🙂

    have a nice weekend,

Hi, I actually have this issue with the header of blackriders theme by inkthemes… even after deactivating and uninstalling autoptomize i cant seem to get the header back.. any thoughts? http://roundrockroofer.com/ is the site im having the issue with.

hi nicklion66929; as far as I can see you still (or again) have autoptimize active? When looking at the HTML of the un-optimized homepage (adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL disables AO) I don’t see any inline CSS that sets a background image either, so I’m not sure what is (not) happening here I’m afraid.

    frank

    Hi Frank,

I’ve got exactly the same problem with a site using Divi theme.
Thank you for having found a work around. I hope this problem will be solved in WordPress 4.7.1
    Thanks for your great plugin!
    Have a nice day.

    Nic
