Please excuse my ignorance (I only did my first WP install 4 hours ago and I have never written a lign of PHP) but it seems that all the topics about RSS involve the syndication of my contect and vice-versa.

i.e.: How do I install an RSS reader to get news from *another* source?

Depends what you mean ….

do you mean so you can show more info on your blog ?
or
for you to be able to read more from other blogs using RSS ?

I would like to read rss feeds from other sources (could be another blog or a news source)

In that case there are a number of programs you can use. If you use Windows, I would recommend you start with Abilon ( http://www.abilon.org/ ) as it’s free and I think a good introduction to readers.
