• Is there a way to put text inside an opened post? I have a link I want only to show up when someone follows a “more” link, but not on the front index.

  • If I have understood you question correctly, you could use the excerpt and post idea. You can enter something in the excerpt field and only have that show on the front page. Then, when somebody clicks the post they see whatever is in the main post area. The excerpt can be completely different from the post. I use images, for example.
    Hop that helps,

Is there more complete help one using the excerpt call? I know it goes into the loop, but how does it interact with the storycontent class? If the engine sees excerpt, does it avoid the storycontent class? Does it have to be formatted on its own, or can the call be placed inside the standard storycontent class div?

I’ve played around with the code and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the help.

Okay — yet another clarification of the question. So, I have excerpts working but it’s still not exactly what I need.
I want a specific bit of text to be inside of each post without having to explicitly type it into each individual post. Something that I can put in one place and have it called for every post. Not a footer, but a formatted piece of every post.

Use the $single variable. Poke around the forums for usage examples.
