Hi GYSK,
This is the first request I’ve had for this sort of thing. The plugin takes the name from the billing address filled in on the checkout page. This is a standard procedure with online checkout systems.
Also, in my experience, the credit card companies actually don’t require the name to match. I’ve never seen an error specific to that, and I’ve even tested bogus names to confirm. The name isn’t included as part of the AVS check, and there is no check specific to the name that I’ve ever seen. You mention that it could cause a payment to be rejected..?? Do you have a specific error code from PayPal in a case where that happened?
We could certainly add a “Name of Credit Card Holder” field into the checkout, but I don’t think it’s something I’d want to do permanently for everybody. What I’ll do is add this as a feature request for the planned 1.2 release of the plugin. I’ll probably make it an an option in the gateway settings page to enable/disable the separate credit card name field, and then use it accordingly if it’s enabled.
It’s probably going to be a few months before 1.2 is released, though. If you don’t want to wait on that and you have plugin development experience you could write a quick extension to get that done. Alternatively, you could submit a quote request if you’d like to have us do that for you so you don’t have to wait.
Sorry I don’t have better immediate news!
Andrew
