    Hi

We have had Jetpack running on our website for over 11 months and have had no major issues with it.

However, after the latest update, our daily site stats seem inaccurate.

We have Google Analytics also running sitewide, and usually the no. of page views and visitors are very similar or not far off. However, since updating to the latest version of Jetpack, our site stats have been very different to Google Analytics.

For instance, Jetpack stats say we had 12,000 visitors and 26,000 page views yesterday.

Our Google Analytics says we also had 12,000 visitors, but counted just 17,000 page views (difference of 9,000 from Jetpack).

Similarly, it says we have had 34,000 page views today, but Analytics says it is in fact 26,000 views.

We know it isn’t a problem with Google, since this issue has only come about ever since the latest Jetpack update.

Our stats are usually very similar between the two (+/- 1000), however this discrepancy means it is unreliable for us to now refer to Jetpack’s stats.

Is there anyone who can look into this?

Due to a server configuration issue some stats were not recorded between January 14th – 15th.

The issue has now been fixed, so stats will be back to normal from today on.

Please accept our apologies for any trouble caused.

    Hi James.

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Just to add, however: The issue wasn’t that some stats were not recorded. The issue was that the number of page views were inflated above what they actually were. An ‘over-recording’, if you will.

Oh! Well that’s weird. Sorry, I just glanced over the wrong part of your report.

Are you sure that your Analytics tracker is running on all pages? Can you see any trends there that would define maybe pages or even referrers that are suddenly not tracked?

    No problem, James!

Google Analytics is definitely running on every page. Having looked at the stats from there, it shows 8,000 views from organic searches/Google, whilst Jetpack has this at 14,000+ views.

That’s the biggest discrepancy I can find so far.

It’s the same for today, with page views from Google being double on Jetpack’s stats.

Hm, that is no good. Would you please share a link to the site with the problem?
