In WP 3.9.1, the editor doesn't have custom text color anymore. (5 posts)

I'm just trying to do something very basic. I highlighted the text, and then clicked on the drop down arrow next to Text Color. I've used this a million times. Now I do not have the field to enter a custom hex code. I get a 5 row, 8 column choice of 40 colors, but there is not an area to enter a custom hex code anymore. I tried using both the default WYSIWYG editor and TinyMCE. I followed all the steps in this thread, but none of them worked.

Cleared my cache, changed themes, cleared cache again to be safe, still can't enter a custom color. I can do it if I switch over to the Text tab instead of the Visual Editor tab, but my clients don't know how to do that, and will probably break the code.

Is anyone else having this issue with 3.9.1?? I can't find it anywhere, but I see a ton of different problems posted on the boards. Any advice? Thanks.

I have not tried it, but the TinyMCE Color Picker plugin might help.

I have the same issue with WP 3.9.1.

You could edit in HTML view:
    color is <span style="color: #d93908;">red</span> ...

In WP 4.0 if you click on the drop down arrow next to Text Colour you see the selection of colours and below that you see "Custom..." and a row of blank boxes.

I clicked on the blank boxes for a few hours with no results...then I happened to miss and click on "Custom..." which brings up the custom colour dialogue. Yea! ( http://prntscr.com/53g6jl )

Now I can set custom type colours. What I can't figure out is how to save them because once I update the page or do anything else they disappear. As there are 8 boxes under custom you would think you could save 8 choices but I can't figure it out...yet.

If anyone happens to know the answer please chime in.

Mee too! I would be interested in a way to save custom colors and keep them forever in my text editor.
