  • It wont be back. It’s being allowed to die.

That really stinks. Truly, it stinks.

Actually, I got mine back. In the dashboard, I scrolled down to my WooTheme {happens to be Canvas} and clicked “Update Framework”. You need to be on 5.5.6 – I’d been on 5.5.3.

Voila! It’s back… Hope this helps.

OMG THANK YOU MW17588 I just spent 4 HOURS searching for it and some way to get it back!!! thank you AGAIN.

    Hello MW17588,

where can i find the Framework on my theme??
is it comes with the theme, or from wordpress dashboard settings ??
    Please Help!

Hi saadkhrais… In your blog/website’s WordPress dashboard, scroll down to your theme name and click on it. {For me, it’s right between Feedback and Appearance} That brings up a theme-specific menu. Click on Update Framework.

Phew! Thanks so much MW17588! I was flipping out because I was already having to deal with a huge mess … lost entire database last night & rebuilding the entire site.
At least there’s now one less issue

Updating the Framework brings back the Shortcode Generator for WooThemes but not for WooCommerce. Trying to add a Product Shortcode stinks now. WTF!

    Thanks MW17588, but I couldn;t find the “update framework” , i dont have a wootheme,,but i have a woocommerce.

THANK YOU jacob, i think it’s stinks too

Although the shortcode button generator may or may not be present, all shortcodes are still intact and can be used just in case anyone was wondering. Here is the list

I tried something and seems like it has to do with the Theme used.

I switched back to MyStile theme, where i got the option to update framework, updated the framework and the shortcode button reappeared.
Then i switched back to my vantage theme and it was gone again.

I conclude the error lies with the developer of the Theme – the lack of updating the framework.

If anyone got a fix, please post it.

The annoying workaround would be to install a dummy site with MyStile theme and copy/paste the code.

I think i will learn how to insert the shortcode from

I just sign up to thank u MW17588.
