Support » Fixing WordPress » In Twenty Ten: not displaying all categories in same page?

  • I’m using Twenty Ten, as a new WP blogger. I hope to have several “categories” or theme areas which are independently updated and also may have sub categories. When I view the page, all the categories run together, ie all show up, in date order of post dates. Can I change this so that only those from relevant categories show for main page?

Alternatively and perhaps better, how can I make the main page not have any of the posts from the categories and just have basic overview info and invites to the various categories (which I am imagining as subpages)?

Thanks for your expertise and time,

    Melanie

thanks, esmi! Maybe a bit over me head for now, but I will save the page, it looks spot on! One other dumb newbie question if you don’t mind? How do I set the thumbnail for the page to be an image of my own? So that for example, when I show a link to the site on my facebook page, the thumbnail is that image? I’ve been searching around but only seeing items about thumbnails related specifically to categories.

It does seem to vary depending upon how you are linking from Facebook but you could try setting up a favicon for your site and see if that works.

thanks! I’ve noticed you often have useful replies in these forums, can one follow someone’s postings somehow? Is that stalkerish? LOL, just looking to be as efficient with my learning curve as possible.

You’ll find a link to all of the topics I’ve been involved in by clicking on “Theme Diva” under my username. I wouldn’t consider it stalking but you might find that the range of topics is pretty wide. 🙂

    ah. thanks!
