Support » Plugin: Advanced Ads – Ad Manager & AdSense » In-feed add-on doesn’t seem to do anything

I’ve just started using the plugin and it works very well apart from this one issue. I installed the free in-feed add-on but it doesn’t seem to do anything. On looking at the manual, this feature is listed as pro. So does the add-on not work unless you have pro?

    Hi susantfl,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The in-feed placement is a free add-on and works only with AdSense in.feed ads. The post list placement of Advanced Ads Pro enables this position for any code.

I checked this page, but I could not see any ad injection. Have you already created a placement and assigned an in.feed AdSense ad as we describe it in this tutorial?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

Hello, thanks for your reply. I had removed the placement because it was doing nothing, but I’ve put it back in now. I created an in-feed ad on adsense, copied the code into a new ad in AA, which I called “in feed” then chose “in feed” as the placement, after 3 posts. I didn’t set any conditions. Would you mind looking again, now the ad is placed? (the problem isn’t just with the category I gave the URL for, it doesn’t show on any of the category archives).

    thank you

    Hi susantfl,

Unfortunately, I cannot see any placement there in the post list. Can you please enable the ad debug mode of this ad unit?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hello

I have enabled the debug mode, but I don’t understand where I am supposed to view the output?

    Thanks

    Hi Susan,

You should see a text output from the ad debug mode at the same position where the ad is placed. In your case, this should be the post list on the category page to which you link above.

Is the debug mode still enabled?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

Hello again, thanks for your response. Yes it is still enabled and I can’t see anything on any of the category feeds, nor on the main posts feed (https://myfitnessplanner.co.uk/posts/ – I don’t have this visible on the site.)

    Hi Susan,

Sorry for the delay. Meanwhile, we contacted the theme author, and I tested the in-feed placement with the Editor theme. This placement, as well as the post list placement, works fine on the archive pages.

Can you please ensure that you assign an AdSense ad unit using the in-feed format there? This placement works only with this ad type. If you assign a normal display ad, it will not get injected.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hello Joachim

Thank you for all the time you have spent on this, I really appreciate that you went to the trouble of contacting MH Themes.

I did create an Adsense in-feed ad unit to start with. To be honest, it’s several days ago now and I can’t remember exactly what I did when setting it up in Advanced Ads, but I went back and checked and the ad type in there was a normal post ad. It’s odd, but I don’t seem able to change this. I have twice manually posted the in-feed code and updated, but it just reverts to normal post ad.

However, I created a new ad making sure that I used the right code and it worked straight away.

Thank you again. I am very impressed with the plugin and the support.

    Hi Susan,

Wow, that’s great to hear, and I am very happy that it is working now 🙂

If you enjoy Advanced Ads so far, I would appreciate a positive review here.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
