    You were kind enough to help me with a layout problem in the past. I’ve just donated to the Premium for TablePress and am hoping you can advise me.

    I’ve created a new table but the data I have is too wide to be displayed nicely. The first rows are okay then it wraps onto more than one row and is difficult to read. I think one of the other layouts mentioned in Premium might improve it, but I don’t know which to choose or how to implement it.

    Alternatively, is there a way to open the table in a new window so that it isn’t restricted in size by WordPress?

    Many thanks in anticipation

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    First, I recommend to add this to the “Custom CSS” textarea on the “Plugin Options” screen of TablePress:

    .tablepress thead th,
    .tablepress tbody td {
    	word-break: normal !important;
    }

    Then, please re-add the table Shortcode to that page again, but this time do not add it to a “table” block in the WordPress editor, but add it into a “Shortcode” block.
    That should already add enough space to make it look better.

    Showing the table in a new window is not directly possible. This would require that your theme has a “content only” page template, and you would then have to create a new page on your site, which can be opened in a popup. TablePress itself can not do that, unfortunately.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thanks a lot. That is much better. I’ve removed the right hand column as well to give more space. I wasn’t sure what you meant by a “Shortcode” block – I put the shortcake for the table into a paragraph block. Is that what you meant?

    Hi,

    yes, a paragraph block should also work fine. There’s however als a designated “Shortcode” block that might be a bit better.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
