Support » Requests and Feedback » Improving comment management: use POST instead of GET, and truncate comments

  • I have a ton of spam comments to wade through (despite using Akismet). So, I load 200 at a time, scroll through, and generally bulk-mark them as spam.

Unfortunately, sometimes WP (or rather, Apache) chokes because the request-uri is too long.

Perhaps WP should use POST to submit the list of comments to mark as spam? It could also do with much shorter parameter names or a more compact representation, but that’s just delaying the problem if it continues to use GET.

The other thing that would be helpful is if the individual comments were shown truncated to just 10 or so lines. Some of the spam comments have hundreds of lines, making the page very tedious to scroll through. I can identify a good comment in 10 lines.

    Thanks!
