Hello, I have a website in woocommerce with 3500 products ( simple products with 5-7 attributes each one, extra 2 custom prices). also with woof product filter.

server is 8 cores of 4200bogomips each core 32GB RAM 40GBSSD . there are 3-5 people in admin (products list also fetch 3 extra columns ( 2 custom prices + last modified date)

configuration on server ( php, nginx, mysql are the default – almost execpt fastcgi timeout variable set to 180)

with only these 5 users on backend (visitors in front-end haven’t start to come) the server seems “stressed” htop in server shows sometimes 100% to most of the cores but RAM its always near 1GB (31GB free :/)
most of the processes are mysql and php childrens.

is there some configuration i need to make? or its just cpu bottleneck. althought with 8 cores 32GB ram i thought the machine would be super fast.

  • You should optimize mysql configuration for use more RAM for caches and buffers.

Thank you grola, maybe by any chance you have any reputable guide for mysql config ? (I have started to google it 🙂 )

    Again thanks

Have you taken a look at our guide for troubleshooting slow sites?
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/troubleshooting-a-slow-site/

    Hey Hannah,
yes i did ( i am mostly troubled on why ram is not used so much and cpu gets to top which probably be sql ?)

I have enabled cache ( W3 Total Cache), PHP OPCache. but the bottleneck is created when the admins ( backend) try to search the products etc which is a situation where cache is not used)

    Hey @immunity20

Your best bet is probably to talk to one of the Experts listed on our Customizations page (https://woocommerce.com/customizations/), many of these companies have experience in these situations.

but the bottleneck is created when the admins ( backend) try to search the products etc which is a situation where cache is not used)

I know this is possible but I’m unsure of how to do it so it can be improved.

Hope you find a good solution.

    Thanks,

    Hey dougaitken.
Dont know what I have done.
in new fresh ubuntu install the site worked fine
(less than 500msec for non-logged users
    around 900-1.300 msecs for admins/registered)
