Support » Plugin: Content Blocks (Custom Post Widget) » Impressed, and have a few questions

I am really liking what I am seeing with your plugin. Thank you for providing it! This seems like a brilliant approach to handling custom content areas (eg, like on a home page where there might be several content blocks) that don’t work as well with the standard posts/pages format.

I’ve looked over your code and it looks pretty straight forward. I just have one question:

In the FAQ you recommend the Widget Logic plugin for “How can I show the content bock on a specific page?” It seems that the new feature added in 1/7/1.8 of “using the shortcode [content_block id= ] to pull in the content of a content block in a page or post” would make using another plugin unnecessary though, correct? I would think that now one would be able to add Content Blocks in most places they would want to (eg, either in a widgetized area via the widget, or in whatever posts/pages they want via the shortcode). Am I correct on this, or am I missing something?

I noticed in the readme file where you asked for feedback regarding the above shortcode functionality. I have not yet used your plugin because right now I’m just doing research for an upcoming project, but I want you to know that this is looking to be exactly what I’m looking for, and the addition of the above feature is very integral to that. So be encouraged that this (at least to me) is a very relevant and important upgrade.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for your kind remarks 🙂 Yes, the shortcode functionality allows you to pull in content from a content block in a post. I have also added a button above the post editor which makes it easy to select the content block (so you don’t have to know the content block ID).

I have yet to update the documentation and the tutorial video, but it is already working in the latest release of the plugin.
