Hi @albeaumont that definitely sounds odd.
To be able to investigate a little further it would help to have a bit more information.
- Could you please let me know the steps you’re following to create the child plugin?
- What happens when you follow those steps? is there an error of some kind? Or just no result?
- What is the Parent theme you’re using, to create the child of?

first i go in Apparence > Create block theme > Create child of Catch FSE > “Generate”
Parent theme i’m using : catch FSE
- there is no result at all or “zip generation failure”

Thank you for the additional details, @albeaumont. It sounds like this could be coming from a conflict with your theme OR a server configuration issue. To confirm this, could you try these two things?
- Activate Twenty Twenty-Three and try to create a child theme on your personal site.
- Create a free site on https://instawp.com and try to create the child theme using your current “catch FSE” theme.
That should help us narrow the problem down to either on thing or the other.

Hey @albeaumont – thanks for troubleshooting that. It does definitely sound like it’s something to do with your server config – which makes it difficult to guess what it might be without further details.
The next thing I can think of would be to check your server logs to see if there is any kind of error occurring around the time you tried creating the theme.
