Unfortunately, I could never Terminate configuration to use “PayPal” rather than “PayPal Standard”.
He asked to connected again and again…The web host told me the problem is not on their side but the plugin.

Hello @patrickhaond
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
When the automatic PayPal onboarding process does not complete, you can use the manual connection method instead. Here’s how:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal.
- Scroll to the bottom of the connection screen.
- Click on “Manually Connect”.
- Enter your Client ID and Secret, which you can generate from your PayPal Developer Dashboard.
For a complete reference, you can also review our official startup guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/paypal-payments-startup-guide/
If that method fails, continue please install this small plugin that enables detailed logging: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1aaXDBks6xydn9pFqXb4jZUJbWdIeKKqm
Once activated, try going through the onboarding process again. Then, go to WooCommerce → Status → Logs and select the most recent
woocommerce-paypal-paymentslog file with today’s date.Copy the log contents, upload them to PrivateBin, and share the link with us. After that, you can safely deactivate and remove the logging plugin. This log alone will not fix the issue, but it will give us insights into what’s going wrong.
Let us know how it goes, and feel free to reach out if anything remains unclear. We’ll assist you through the next steps.
Kind Regards,
KrystianThank you for your help.
However when I try WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal I could not access to any Manually Connect Option…
There is nothing but “connect to paypal” button.

It looks like you are still on the last onboarding step, which is why you only see the “connect to PayPal” button. To access the manual connect option you will need to go back to the main activation page.

Click on “Connect your PayPal account” twice. Once you reach the page where you see the blue “Activate PayPal Payments” button, scroll down on that same page. At the bottom, you will find the manual connect section

Let us know once you are able to access it, or if you run into any trouble along the way.
Kind Regards,
KrystianThanks for your help.
So this time I coudl show manual connect option.
But I got that message…Please enter a valid Client IDView post on imgur.com
Hello @patrickhaond
“Please enter a valid Client ID.” likely means that the value entered is either incorrect or incomplete. Please make sure that you’re using the correct Client ID and Secret Key, which can only be generated from the PayPal Developer Dashboard. Here’s how to get them:
- Visit the PayPal Developer Dashboard:
https://developer.paypal.com/ - Log in using your existing PayPal account.
(Every PayPal account automatically has access to the developer portal.) - In the top-left menu, click “Apps & Credentials.”
- Choose whether you want to create Live or Sandbox credentials.
If you’re testing, select Sandbox. If you’re going live, select Live. - Click “Create App.” Give the app a name like
ppcp-manual-appand confirm. - Once the app is created, you’ll see:
- Client ID
- Secret
- Copy both values carefully and paste them into the Manual Connection section of the plugin.
Let us know the outcome.
Kind Regards,
KrystianThanks for your help it seems to work if I create a brand new App !
Now I have to configure all the different things, notably I don’t want PayPal Buton on Cart page etc…Hello @patrickhaond
Great to hear it works now.
If you want to remove the PayPal button from the cart page, follow these steps:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal
- Click on the Styling tab (the last one)
- In the Location dropdown, select Cart
- Uncheck the box labeled “Enable payment methods in this location”
- Save changes

This will remove the PayPal Smart Button from the cart page while keeping it active in other locations like the checkout page.
Let me know if you need help adjusting the button placement elsewhere.
Kind Regards,
KrystianThank you@inpsydekrystian for your time and your great help!
