Support » Requests and Feedback » Importing XML file to Local WordPress

  • I have downloaded wordpress (Version 2.0.4) and set up on my local machine as the backup of my live blog.
But When I look a way to import my live blog (http://michaelsync.wordpress.com) into my local blog on my machine, I didn’t see any option to import from wordpress exported file. and I noticed that the downloaded file is a lit bit different than wordpress.com.

So, How can I import wordpress exported file into my local wordpress??

    Thanks in advance.

    P.S: I come from this link.. http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=3583&replies=13

  • you should be able to use the RSS import in your local blog, since that imports an xml formatted file.

Any Idea why it’s happening like that?
    Thanks in advance.
