# Importing wordpress.com site to wordpress.org

 * Hi all,
 * Thanks in advance for your help.
 * I have been working on a site (dartmoorlogs.wordpress.com) for some time and 
   have recently purchased the domain (dartmoorlogs.com) and a hosting package from
   GoDaddy.
 * Transferring the site with GoDaddy was getting a bit messy so I set up a new 
   account for WP through GD and imported my old site. On my new dashboard I can
   now see all the pages and content I had previously created but it doesn’t seem
   to be showing on the actual site when I click on ‘visit site’ on the dashboard.
 * The import seemed to work fine but I am now wondering if I need to somehow activate
   the content?
 * Any help much appreciated.

 * If you try to edit a post, and you click on “View Page”, does it take you to 
   the post on the site?
 * What theme are you using?

 * Hello, thanks for your quick response.
 * I don’t have posts as I have set the blog up as a website, but when I edit a 
   page and click view page all the text is viewable but the layout/formatting seems
   slightly strange, as in there doesn’t seem to be a real theme.
 * The theme is Twenty Fourteen. Do you think I should try changing it? I wanted
   to change it to classic as I read somewhere that this might help but couldn’t
   find it.

 * When I look at a page like this, it looks fairly normal: [http://dartmoorlogs.com/home/services/woodland-management/](http://dartmoorlogs.com/home/services/woodland-management/)
 * It does look a little bare, but that’s really because the theme itself is somewhat
   basic. You can try some other themes just to see what it would look like.
