# Importing WordPress Blog

 * Chalk it up to rookie mistake, but I was installing a custom theme/child theme
   design and content to a friend’s site that I designed myself. I had a private
   subdomain on my website where I uploaded the theme I designed and added her content
   so she could click around and check it out before it was final. Not thinking 
   through, I exported it from my subdomain thinking that was a quick and easy shortcut
   and then uploaded it to her website via the import tool. As you can guess, everything
   ran smoothly until I went back to my subdomain and began making changes and clearing
   things out. These changes reflected on her website because of the linked import(
   I assume). Not all was lost and I was able to go back in, upload the media in
   her website, and relink some images and fix the css. But it did cause some things
   to go wrong and a bit of a headache. I am worried that if I delete my sub domain
   or make any further changes to it, more errors will occur on her website. Is 
   there anything I can do to safely un-link the sites?
    Hopefully that makes sense!

 * Imports aren’t linked that way, it’s just an XML file that dumps into the destination
   blog, there is absolutely no connection.
 * My best guess is that perhaps you were accidentally editing in her blog at the
   time.
