Support » Plugin: Import Users from CSV » importing users by specific ID

I previously had to autoincrement my users after ID nr. 20 so I now have a gap between 1 and 20, therefore I was trying to add some new users filling the ID column (i.e. 2-19). But it won’t work. I thought it was a simple task. Any suggestion?

    Hi @arsenalemusica

Thank you for using Import Users From CSV, if the user already exists in your system, you may add an “ID” column with the user ID to update that user and keep your increments but it’s not needed as it looks against the username/email to see if the user already exists and would be redundant.

If you want to start your increments from 20, for non-existing users you would need to alter your users table ID autoincrement starting value before importing users.

I recommend in reaching out to a local WordPress developer for assistance with this.

Hi Andrew, users aren’t there already so I thought of adding a ID column in the new users import but it failed. I had set the autoincrement from 20 and I’m importing fine so far. I just have that 2-19 gap, not a big deal but I just don’t like to have it 🙂
