I’d like to convert severals sites that use different plugins for testimonials (e.g., Easy Testimonials). What advice can you offer? Is this a feature Would WP All Import work?

It can be a complex task with a lot of trial and error, which is one reason I have yet to write a tutorial on it.

I have not used WP All Import/Export but it looks promising.

I have used the standard WordPress import/export but it never seems to work with featured images. And I don’t know if it works with categories.

I have successfully imported in CSV format using Really Simple CSV Importer and Ron’s Editor (free) to format and scrub if necessary (which is almost always). Never use Excel to edit CSV files.

My plugin uses the recommended structure of a custom post type (wpm-testimonial), post meta for the custom fields, custom taxonomy (wpm-testimonial-category), and featured images.

If the source plugin uses the same structure then it may be straightforward. But I know some do not so it can be difficult to map the source to the target.

Please let me know if I can help in any way. If you care to publish your results here, I’m sure others would benefit.

I have successfully imported testimonials using the plugin ALL IMPORT. The Pro version lets you import images or custom fields.
