# Importing from WordPress.com

 * Hi,
    I already have a _mysite_.com built with a WordPress theme and a _myblog_.
   wordpress.com blog. What I want to do is import my blog to _blog.mysite.com_ (
   or _mysite.com/blog_). I have found the method & exported my blog ([https://wordpress.org/support/article/importing-content/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/importing-content/)),
   but there is no indication of how to specify the directory to import it to, or
   whether it must go to the root – & thus wipe my existing site! Does anyone know?

 * Your best option here would be to create a new WordPress installation under a
   subdomain (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on creating
   a subdomain), then do the export and import as directed.
