Support » Plugins » Importer – blank page

  • rental01

I’m running on a website. I’ve installed WordPress 3.0, upgraded it to 3.01 and now am attempting to import my blogger blog to the WP blog.

    Steps taken:

    1) Manually installed the blogger-importer to wp-content\plugins\
    2) Activated the blogger-importer
    3) [Tools][Import][Blogger]

    I get a blank page.

I’ve tried twice to do this figuring something must have broken for me on the install. When that failed, I exported the blog from blogger, then ran the Blogger2Wordpress conversion on it and manually installed the wordpress-importer. Same issue.

After searching on the site and not seeing anything I’m turning to you for help. Help!

What version of PHP are you using?

If you are using PHP4 see if you can switch to PHP5 and see if it works then?

Apparently I’m on version 4.4.9. I’m looking into upgrading now.

Got it! Php5 was installed but Php4 was enabled. All I needed to do was to enable php5 and that worked.

For anyone on 1and1 who has this problem, create an .htaccess file in your base directory for the WP site and enter the following into it:

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

When I try to install a blogger importer or even a wordpress installer, it gives an error message —
Warning: touch(): Unable to create file C:\inetpub\vhosts\\httpdocs/wp-content/blogger-importer.tmp because Permission denied in C:\inetpub\vhosts\\httpdocs\wp-admin\includes\file.php on line 199

what is the reason?? please help
