    Hi,

Really glad I found this plugin, works amazingly well!

I have a store with existing orders and I want to import old orders from a CSV doc. Let’s say the latest order number on my store is 500, the orders to be imported are numbered #501 to 899 so I want all new orders on my store to start from 900 (I know I’ll need the pro plugin for this). With this setup, new order numbers won’t conflict with imported order numbers. Is this possible?

    Hey @jorpdesigns,

Thanks for reaching out with your question, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying our free version so far! Yes indeed, with the premium version you can choose a starting value for your order numbers. This must be higher than the current max order number in your store.

From what you’ve said, the older orders will be imported with a lower number than this, so starting at 900 sounds great to me!

Will you be looking to purchase the premium version for this purpose do you think?

    Cheers!

    Simon.

Yes I should purchase the premium version if you can confirm this will work.

How do I assign order numbers 501 – 899 to the imported orders? Do you use a custom field for the order number value?

    Hey @jorpdesigns!

Great to hear! to import the data, the plugin stores the order number in two relevant metakeys on the order:

    • _order_number
    • _order_number_formatted

For your use case, it should be fine to use _order_number. _order_number_formatted may include any text prefixes/suffixes which are not options in the free version of the plugin, so shouldn’t be in use.

Once the orders have been imported with _order_number metadata, you should be good to go to activate the plugin!

Is there anything else I can help out with today?

    Cheers!

    Simon.
