Hey @jorpdesigns,
Thanks for reaching out with your question, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying our free version so far! Yes indeed, with the premium version you can choose a starting value for your order numbers. This must be higher than the current max order number in your store.
From what you’ve said, the older orders will be imported with a lower number than this, so starting at 900 sounds great to me!
Will you be looking to purchase the premium version for this purpose do you think?
Cheers!
Simon.
Yes I should purchase the premium version if you can confirm this will work.
How do I assign order numbers 501 – 899 to the imported orders? Do you use a custom field for the order number value?

Hey @jorpdesigns!
Great to hear! to import the data, the plugin stores the order number in two relevant metakeys on the order:
- _order_number
- _order_number_formatted
For your use case, it should be fine to use _order_number. _order_number_formatted may include any text prefixes/suffixes which are not options in the free version of the plugin, so shouldn’t be in use.
Once the orders have been imported with _order_number metadata, you should be good to go to activate the plugin!
Is there anything else I can help out with today?
Cheers!
Simon.
