Support » Plugin: WordPress Importer » Imported Images Point to old site

  • I’m trying to move my WP 5.1.1 installation to a local LAMP installation. In the original install, I exported all content. When I import it to the new installation and check the box to download all attachments, all 10,000+ images were downloaded properly and appear in the media library. However, the image links all point to the old site instead of the new media library. Oddly, when I view the site it shows the images (still hotlinked to the old site), but in Gutenberg the image block shows a broken image and text that can’t be found, even though it still exists in that directory.

I’m thinking what’s needed is to edit the database to change all instances of http://oldsite to http://localhost:8080/wordpress, but I’m not smart enough on SQL to do that on my own.

    1) Is that the solution to this issue or is there a better way?
    2) How would I make this change from either the command line or phpMyAdmin?
