 * I updated the backup plugin last week, and now I am getting that “unknown error.”

 * I still get the same errors (on 3 different websites, with different hostings)
   with a manual backup.

 * Same here. Although I am getting further that I used to. On my sites, I see the
   following:
    - The (local) backup hangs for a long time.
    - After a few minutes, when it is done, the result-ZIP-file is corrupt.
    - I can then make a _new_ backup with good results.
    - This is non-systematic but very irritating.
 * I’ll be a happy man when this problem is addressed. Thanks in advance.
