Support » Fixing WordPress » import xml file but uploaded image not show in media library

I make a wrong backup of database from phpmyadmin. But I correctly save all files from FTP, and I export a latest backup file.xml from the wordpress.

I install a new wordpress, move in uploaded fold under wp-content, and import the xml file. the problem is many image folder cannot be read from wordpress media library, although the files and folders are right in place.

I was told those missing folder are not recorded in wordpress database, so they cannot be read. I tried “add from sever” plugin it did work but it created too many files with different sizes, and it is very slow to select multiple files and uploading.

Please kindly advise me a better method to restore my website. Thank you very much.

XML files do not contain the images, they contain links to the images.

Yes, I know that. All images are in folders and the link is correct. I need wordpress can read them.

i found the issue, the export function of WordPress is rubbish, never use it.
i check the data inside xml, some image info is included, and some are not, although the data structure of the posts is exactly the same.
