# Import SQL from Blogsome

 * I’m moving a blog over from Blogsome. I got an SQL dump from an admin over there,
   and now I’m trying to get it set up. I found this link: [http://rajeev.name/blog/2007/04/19/migrating-blogsome-blogs/](http://rajeev.name/blog/2007/04/19/migrating-blogsome-blogs/)
   which seems really useful, but it’s almost 2 years old. Anyone know if there’s
   anything else I should be doing?
 * To summarize quickly, he says I should
 * 1. Rename table names from the format wp_username_tablename to wp_.
 * 2. Change the links so that they will work.
 * 3. Use myphp to import the modified SQL.
 * Anyone else have any other input. I’m kind of hopeless at this stuff, so any 
   help would be much appreciated.

 * Thanks for the offer! I have it just about figured out now…took me a little time
   because I had to covert everything to UTF8, make a new database, and then import
   it all again – all the Japanese text in my blog ([http://howtojapanese.blogsome.com](http://howtojapanese.blogsome.com))
   was coming up garbled. Took me a while to figure out. Now I’m just trying to 
   figure out which tables to import as blogsome has some that differ from the new
   WordPress tables. The main one I’m concerned about is categories. I should be
   able to find some info about it on the internets.
